OUR HISTORY
Our Humble Beginnings
Kings Foundation Schools was started in 1998 by the its late founder, Rose Chaponda Hiwa. Mrs Hiwa was a true visionary and pioneer in the education sector. For many years as she served in the position of Headmistress in government schools, she conceived the vision to establish this school and true to that vision, here we are.
Mrs Hiwa was an educationist who had taught in government schools from primary to secondary for a period of 25 years. Upon retirement, she used part of her retirement funds to build the first campus of Kings Foundation Schools in Ntcheu.
The beginnings were quite humble, and she started with a day Secondary School at the same: Ntcheu campus. A year later, it graduated into a boarding school. At this stage, Kings had only 11 teachers as members of staff.
